Title: CHEVY 357 FIRST START
Post by: crazy-modder on February 23, 2012, 06:30:35 PM
Well i wasnt going to fire it up until i got the waterpump and my radiator hooked up but i was to excited lol....Im going to pick up the belt tomorrow and hook up the waterpump and fans then i can run her all day. I still got to get her in time too cause it still isnt 100% in time. Anyways, she still sounds like a freakin beast.

yeah, once i get it completely hooked up im gonna relash. Im sure its still bout 0 lash but gonna relash it either way. I did 1/2 turn preload but i have seen people do 1/4 turn. what do you think rodent?

Book says 1 full turn , but in my experiance seems to make more power when its a 1/4 turn.. with 0 lash  Ran some of my best times at the track on a 1/4 turn .

Motors run best when there loose  and what i mean is there is not much friction to rob the horse power.

I love the way it sounds, so sweet crazy. Great job.  :hifive:

BTW, I really like the clear ignition. Does spark inside there? I've seen points style ones that were clear but never the coil type.
