Microsoft may be shifting pricing strategy for its Xbox 360. Rumors that the software giant will subsidize the popular video game console in exchange for a two-year Xbox Live Gold subscription are circulating.
Ultimately, customers will have to choose between flexibility and moderate savings. It's worth noting that if Microsoft were to release the next generation Xbox in the next two years, the Gold subscription should be transferable to the new console.

I'm a little confused here. If it's $99 for xbox+kinect and you have to subscribe to 2 years of xbox with the monthly cost of about $15. Then isn't that $99 + $360 (24 x 15). For a total of around $460. Then there's the regular xbox+kinect bundle for $300 and you can pay for 2 years of Live with the $60 yearly subscription for 2 years for a total of $120. And an overall total of $420 for that deal. So wouldn't the consumer kinda get :censored:ed over in the deal if they went with the $99 kinect+xbox?
If you were already trying to say that in the original post I was just reading it wrong and therefore my post is useless lol.

yes Monkey, you are correct.
Note:
I reverted the start of this thread back to its original post by Tracey, which was just the title and a link. It looks like our news team added a pic and article to her post that the math was completely wrong and misleading.

Microsoft may be shifting pricing strategy for its Xbox 360. Rumors that the software giant will subsidize the popular video game console in exchange for a two-year Xbox Live Gold subscription are circulating.
According to tech blog The Verge, Microsoft may offer an Xbox 360 and Kinect bundle for $99 with a two-year, monthly subscription to Xbox Live Gold, which is priced at $15 per month. If the rumors are true, Microsoft customers could save about $40 in the deal.
The cheapest Xbox 360 and Kinect bundle is about $299.99 and a year of Xbox Live Gold is $59.99, costing about $460 for the bundle and two-years of Gold. The rumored $99 bundle plus $320 for two-years of Xbox Live Gold would total about $420.
Ultimately, customers will have to choose between flexibility and moderate savings. It's worth noting that if Microsoft were to release the next generation Xbox in the next two years, the Gold subscription should be transferable to the new console.
