ok not sure if in right place but ill try here
i brought a iphone 3gs for 50$ none working so i took it apart found the back light worked but nothing on screen so i replaced the screen and vib on it not i get stuff on screen but no backlight i can see everything is light is on the screen but my screens backlight worked but don't work now and its a new screen.
i cleaned everything and still nothing, i looked it up and a restore fixes it but dont want to do that yet incase it dont need it as well
the chip for the light is ok and has power in and out of it
would anyone know what this could be?

Does the old screens Backlight work on it? I ran in to this issue a few times on a 3GS. and if you know the screen you ordered is working 100% let the iphone die then connect it to the PC and let it charge the Backlight should come back on if not. then Try the old screen to see if the backlight works on that.

Ive had this before a few times and a Hard reset always got it going again, but you could also check and make sure the backlight on the new screen works because alot of the time there defective.
YOu might also check for corrosion on the connecter where it plugs in, if you see some just clean it with alcohol and a q-tip. Good Luck!

not sure about the leds in the screen but the old one don't work i cleaned the connectors and soft and hard reset it i read it could be the 6r8 coil or ic 109b but dame not sure if i can solder that stuff due to illness plus shops charge stupid prices.
