Title: PSP 2001 - Joystick Doesn´t work

Hello all.

I have a PSP Slim. A couple of weeks ago, I changed the External memoy/wifi/power leds to blue. Everything worked fine, except that now the joystick doesn´t work.

I bought a new joystick with a new rubber contact. Still doesnt work.
I tested a joystick that I know it works. Nothing.
I tried another Motherboard just to see if my MoBo broke down. Same result.
I even swapped the D-Pad/Ext Memory flex just to see if it did anything. Joystick still doesnt move.

Is there any other reason that the joystick doesn´t work?

I´m attaching pics of my psp. If you guys need more pics, please let me know.

backtrack to what you did it always helps out on what went wrong so you saying everything was fine until the leds swap?
maybe you burned a trace of some sort

Yeah, I thought of that too, but I inspected the MoBo with a microscope and did not found anything wrong.

I´m adding the pictures of the joystick (with the plastic rubber) and of the motherboard focusing on the joystick contacts.

all the leds are the only thing messed with before the issue started?
id remove the leds and see if that works and if it does re add them one by one see if it fails again

Yes, the leds are the only modification.

Will try that out.

By the way, all of the leds work perfectly.

Thing is, I swapped the motherboard (which means, different contacts, different leds,no modifications whatsoever) and the joystick would not move.

back up u swapped the mobo before the joystick issue? then maybe it wasnt comp

After the joystick issue.

It was to see if there was something wrong with my MoBo.

Everything is pointing at the joystick (or the rubber), but I already swapped that, it´s practically new and I don´t know what else to do.

sure u tried to reseat the ribbon cable a few times correct?

What do you mean by "resetting the ribbon cable"??
