Hi All,
I got a little ripped off on eBay when purchasing the Thumbstick mod, they sent me what appears to be the older version...
I have since also realised that this version does not even work with the Matrix controllers as it does not have a top left side soldering point, only the top CG point so am having to use a controller I didn't want to open up...
HOWEVER, the problem I have is that I am also unsure where I am supposed to solder as the online tutorials all show the newer version of the kit...any ideas here?
Also, I have a gold shell for one controller and the start/select buttons kinda sink into the front and are hard to press, any ideas on how to fix?
Thanks

I would guess that 4 goes to the center pin. Ever mod I have sen does... All the rest look right

circle 1 goes to gnd
circle 2 goes to vcc
circle 3 goes to the middle pin of the sync button
circle 4 goes to the middle pin of those 3 pins just use some 30awg

Amazing thank you! :) quick question, am i right in assuming that gnd = ground and is the big area that 1 is already place on?
If so then it is only 2 I am left unsure of, is there any way of you showing me exactly what part that is?
I'm sorry to ask only the 4 point lines up the with bottom of the 3 pins but as you guys said, it goes in the middle, so I just wanted to double check 2 is lined up right, or exactly what to put it on.
Thanks
Also, any ideas for the start & select buttons?

1 is correct
2 is correct (the pin below where it sits in the pic)
3 goes to the middle of sync button (correct)
4 goes to the center pin. (use wire like 3d0 said)

hi sorry to say you may have got the same cheap rip off kit that i did a few months ago.... even if you manage to get all the points soldered up correctly, as they dont line up quite right with the contacts on the controller pcb.. that kit still wont work right....
you cant change mode.... as there is no trace in the pcb that actually connects to the sync button. there is a very small PITA connection for the sync but no trace connecting it to the chip... and the main mod pcb seems to be missing a few components..
i tried using wire to connect it up but still no joy. in the end i scrapped the main pcb and just wired the led boards straight to tops flasher code.... worked a treat ...... lesson learnt.
hopefully you didnt get ripped like i did...

Ah damn, thanks Spurgurgle, I did have my doubts when I noticed the sync part didn't really have an allocated connection, like you said there is just a tiny contact that i was going to just try cover as much as possible...
I half feel it was my fault for not checking the eBay kit properly but at the same time I didn't expect to be sold an older dodgy kit and just bid on the first one I saw that seemed ok...I might complain to eBay that its not what I ordered because technically it didn't say it would not fit a Matrix board. Then with the money just buy a proper one....sucks for us eh?

can i ask what you guys pay for this trash

that kit sells for about $15 to $18 and is like paper thin. had some guy send me couple of them good thing i didn't pay for them. worst mod kit ever... best one i ever got was from phenoptix another member of Acidmods.

Yeah I paid about £9, and i've seen the newer kits selling for the same price, so clearly I was just not paying attention enough when ordering...my fail.
