Hi, I am just wondering is it possible to make a rapid fire controller wihout a push button? Is they any way I could just use he normal trigger?
Thanks
-
You are looking for a rapid fire sleeper mod that uses a built in button (usually the sync). Hazers BMU codes come to mind, check this thread for all of the rapid fire PIC codes acidmods has to offer. https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,37478.0.html (https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,37478.0.html)

What are these "codes" if I use a button will I need any code?
-
using a "addon" button for use of rapid fire is old school man look through the list of rf codes here on am or sethmods kindly made a code generator
basically install your rf and enter the mode you want so say if you have mode 1 as rf you just play like normal no hitting extra hardware
-
But will the old school button work?
Thanks
-
no.
-
So what do I need? Any links to the items I need?
-
sorry to say but doesnt seem you have the slightest clue on what you are asking or wanting to do
rf isnt exactly n00b friendly
-
Yes your right I don't have a clue and that's why I'm on here asking and hoping someone can help, I just want to add rf to my controller for as cheap as I can
-
jay RF are not a simple trick, you do not just solder wire to a button and hope it works.
Do some research of your own. Make Google and the search bar your friend.
If you want "pre made" people on here can do it for you.
In either way their is no cheap way of doing this you're going to have to scope out a little cash
-
Why doesn't the button work no more?
-
The single button mod relied on using the crystal on the old matrix controllers for the rapid fire oscillations, the matrix controllers are few and far between (due to the age), as far as I know the mod would still work if you could find one. Here is all the information you need on the no-chip mod https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,17135.msg287736.html#msg287736 (https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,17135.msg287736.html#msg287736)
If people seem a little un-responsive, it's because these questions get asked a lot, and a quick search can tell you bunch more than we can :).
-
Okay, so how would I do it without a button ? Sorry I am new to all this modding but really want to make my own rapid fire controller.
What "chip" do I need etc ?
Please help
-
Jay you need to do research man honestly this is as much help as we can give you.

I think u will be better off buying a pre programmed chip then u can just do the instillation of the chip yourself. Ill link u a website that i think will accommodate your needs for a rapid fire controller. This is the only company I know of that still do old school rapid fire where u have rapid fire on tact switches freeing up your triggers to remain stock or u can get ones that operate off the triggers as well. These chips + shipping fees will be about the same price maybe a little cheaper than building your own programmer and buying 12f683 chips to program.
Here is the link. http://www.maddogcontrollers.com/ (http://www.maddogcontrollers.com/) Check it out and let me know if this is what your looking for.
Just go to Xbox 360 fixed rapid fire chips or Xbox 360 adjustable rapid fire chips. I would strongly suggest getting adjustable RF chips. They have the old school & new school styles of rapid fire so this should accommodate what your looking for.
Its beginner level modding stuff. If you don't know how to solder just YouTube how to solder Xbox 360 controllers. Almost every company that sell DIY chips will list a instillation tutorial and will help u identify what model of controller u have. If you don't like these chips then just look on eBay and u will find thousands of companies selling these basic RF chips for around 7 to 20$.
Good luck. I hope this answers your questions. Just remember it will cost u about the same to go this route than to build a programmer and order 12f683 chips. The disadvantage is your selling yourself short not building or buying your own programmer and using acid mods opensource hex's. The hex files in these forums are "in my opinion" better than these cheep eBay companies. Your more than likely pay 20$ on eBay to some kid that's using these acid mods free codes for their own profit anyways LOL.
Here is a perfect example of a company thats selling hazers rapidfire RF hex as his own for like 50$ that would only cost u a doller LOL.
