Ive seen a few tutorials on this site and YouTube showing how to add the trigger L.E.D mod but I can seem to find where you wire it.
Would it be okay if i wired it like this ...

Yes, But Would Need To Remove The Battery Everytime. Do A Little More Searching And You Will Find Everything You Will Need To Install it.

^^^ Please disregard that statement. ^^^
Your controller is a CG1. With that controller and only that controller, your wiring is fine. (with the exception of how much wire you have exposed, you should not see any bare wire at the solder joint. cut the bare wire back to 1/8" or less, then solder it in place to ensure there are no shorts.)
On the CG1 that power point is a switched source for the mic and safe to use for this mod. you should use an LED calculator and add a resistor to protect the leds from premature failure.

I agree. Also you may want to remove some of that solder on the p3 led.
-
Did Not Realize You Had A Cg1, Only Had One Cg1 Ever. So Yeah, Disregard My Last Post.

I fitted them in and they worked great, until I took the batteries out and then out them back in and the controller wouldn't turn on, so I took the trigger lights off and it worked again, I put the "-" wire to the terminal and then touched the red wire on the other terminal and then the controller went off again.
It seems when I connect the LEDs the controller shuts off and won't turn back on

Follow this Tutorial you will have less issues with lighting xbox 360 controllers if you just follow this
shows you where to add positive and negatives for leds where and what leds to use trust me this guy is one of the best on the site for led mods for controllers
i use it all the time and shorten your wires up where your soldering to you could be shorting something out , there in the right location that is needed to power the led.
