Title: name of U2 chip in Xbox 1708 controller?
Post by: kwiatek13 on August 02, 2018, 01:31:29 AM
Hello,
I have a problem with x-box one pad, pad does not starting. I disassembly them and IC (perhaps DC / DC step up converter) heats up a lot. Its designation on PCB is U2 (or U3). SMD code is ACMG, I can not find this chip on the internet. Anyone know what the chip is?

U2 and U3 are both an MP3414. If U2 is bad, that could keep the controller from powering up. You can remove it and test to see if the controller turns on, since all it does is provide 3.5v to the Rumble motors. U3 is the main one that supplies 3.3v to the controller.
