Title: best temp for desoldering analog
Post by: zis2104 on May 28, 2021, 02:30:29 PM
I use 345? and 4 flow and flux and solder, but don't work.

what?

Factory uses lead free solder, which needs higher temps to melt than leaded solder.

The temp setting depends on the soldering iron, good ones are temp controlled and whatever temp you set will be the one used, bad ones you can set whatever you want for temp, means nothing,

I use 350C for lead free solder, its the smallest/cheapest JBC station there is, BT-2BWA.

Please do not use hot air for desoldering THT, also no need for flux with THT.

instead of doing like the one in the video I had to tear apart the analog to replace it, in this way.

I can repeat what I've already written, but wanted to add that a solder sucker, wick and de-soldering gun works better.

You can use hot air for THT, but then again you can use a household oven as well or a flat iron, both can work but ain't the right tools.

desoldering gun doesnt work any better on multilayer pcb.

desoldering gun doesnt work any better on multilayer pcb.
the fact is that I often see that many youtubers use hot air and remove it in a minute, instead I stay 10 minutes and can't
remove it

Well it's certainly possible to use a hot air station for that, but its not required, again, THT doesn't need hot air, but a soldering iron.

it needs skills to use a hot air station, especially if you have a cheap POS like a 858D+ (I do), using a 2 grand JBC hot air station will take way less time, or just a proper Quick one.

Also, most Youtube videos on that subject are complete garbage, gotta be careful who and what you believe.

again, THT doesn't need hot air, but a soldering iron.
again, tht was designed for 1-2 layer pcbs. since sony indineers designed 2 additional layers of full copper ground planes u should use rules for smt rework.

many youtubers use hot air and remove it in a minute
many youtubers dont give a single f about clients devices and grill it with up to 500c hot air

desoldering gun doesnt work any better on multilayer pcb.

This one is my daily and makes easy work of the multilayer pcb, add a little leaded solder and boom. External pump is the better of the clones when buying a desoldering gun.

I use a combination of braid, solder sucker, hot air and iron. Sometimes they remove easy, sometimes they don't. I'm going to start using low melt solder and see.

My method is break analog into board and desolder piece only one time and sucker solder

My method is very rough,

I use wick to remove as much solder as possible from the pins then I use the hot air at 400 degrees to finish the job. It's time consuming but it works for me.

because also the mechanism sometimes breaks, I usually only change the sensors, but sometimes the spring starts to jam
