Title: 1708 - Solder pad ripped off on right stick
Post by: FRichardson on June 20, 2021, 12:29:14 PM
Does anyone know where this solder joint should connect with a jumper wire? The solder pad lifted up when I removed the right joystick. Below is the links to the image.

That is just a solder lug for holding the stick onto the board, it's ground, but it's purely a mechanical connection. That one missing will not really hurt anything.

Sounds good. I will solder a new joystick and hopefully it works.

On the gamepad tester it is showing that the right stick is still moving even though I have not solder a new joystick. Is there a capacitor or resistor that I need to check around the right stick?

If there is no stick installed then the lines are floating and they will do all sort of weirdo things.

Is that normal to do that if there is no stick or is there something else going on?
