hi,
I got a controller with a jdm-055 board. the controller seems almost brand new, the R2 button isn't working at all. I tried to change the flex band but no difference.
do you guys have any idea what I could check?
thank you very much in advance!

Check pu2 if have a short, it measuring 8k

I really have a hard time measuring anything on the flex board. maybe I'm doing something wrong. I don't get anything between pin 16 + 17 and 17 + 14. but I also get nothing on 1 + 4 and 1 + 2 altough L2 and every other button is working.
edit: so pu1 and pu2 is on flex band itself it seems, all 4 connections show 8k on flex band.
I measured r62 100k, r19 62k, r66 95k is my mcu faulty?
edit2: weird sometimes r19 is 62k and r62 100k, sometimes those values are reversed. well I don`t know :censored: about electronics, just messing with my dads stuff.
edit3: alright I just noticed it matter on with resistor site I put the cable. so now they are all 100k.
edit4: if I disconnect the flex band while the controller is still on. both L2 and R2 jump to 100%. if I put flex band again on board. both go to 0%, R2 not working while pressing, L2 works while pressing in this state.
can someone follow this?

I would really appreciate if there is something else I could check. if I would find the cause of it, my father could fix it.
here are some pictures

the small damage on the first 6? pins on contact to flex band is cause by me through trying to clean it etc. I don't think it caused real damage and shouldn't be the cause, because R2 didn't work before.

R19 and R62 are only for L1/R1.
You really need a scope to see if 2L and 2R are both acting right. Pad 1 and pad 14 of the connector there that goes to the Daughter (Flex) board. Should be a 500Hz, 3.2v p/p signal on each one if it's connected to USB. You can use a DMM, but that will only show you the voltage, but if pad 1 (2L) has 3.2v and pad 14 (2R) don't match, then that's a good enough test to let you know the issue is there, and that 2R line just runs straight to the MCU. So the 2R trace, the contact or the MCU is the issue.
If that signal (not just the voltage) is on 2R, then the issue would have to be on the R2 line, pad 17, and that also runs straight to the MCU, so it's the trace, contact or the MCU again.

I tried to test it. I don't know if I done right. pin 1 and 14 both got 3.2v. I don't know how to check for "signal" but pin 4 and 17 had around 1.2v.

Already mentioned that you need an Oscilloscope to check for the signal.
Both 4 and 17 should measure pretty much 0v with no Flex board present, 0.03v is what I measured here.
