Hi Guys,
I have a PS5 controller (Scuff Reflex) that I have replaced the Type C charging port on due to broken pins. The board is the exactly the same as a V1 Dualsense controller
However the controller is only charging at 0.2amps. I have seen online that it should be charging at approximately 1.5amps
Any help would be much appreciated cheers

I would imagine that when the pins broke/bent, they shorted something inside one of the chips. I have to specify that I haven't tried fixing Dualsense controllers yet, but my assumption would be that the charge IC was affected somehow. Either that or you knocked some other component when you were soldering the Type C connector.

Thanks for the reply. The controller was itself was charging intermittently due to the damaged pins on the board side. Even prior repair it was charging @ 0.2amps if the pins were making a connection to the pads on the board. Does anyone know what the name of the charging/power IC is on the Dualsense controller? Would there be a way to jump a wire to the dock connector on the bottom of the controller

There are different models of boards. You would have to identify the model or post a picture. Quick tip: using imgur.com it's super easy. You upload a picture, click the three dots and then on "Get share links". Then the "forums" link it is.

Yes the Scuff Reflex I have here is a BDM-010 I have a good board here also and checked the USB-C Port Diode reading using a multimeter both reading the same. I suspect the fault is no where near the charging circuit. Here are the readings I have recorded:

Red Probe on Ground, Black Probe on pins
1: 0.002v (GND)
