Title: Help with PS2 Analog mod.
Post by: Mystike on September 06, 2007, 02:29:58 PM
Ok , i've recently been thinking up some ideas but i've become stumped. What I want to do is replace the D-pad on the PS2 with an analog stick , but I understand that it uses a different signal?

Anyway , i'm rather stuck and need some help. I've looked into benhecks PS2-PSP analog-nub mod , and i'm thinking it's something similar to this .

If anyone has any info on the subject , it would help greatly.

Thanks.

 :winker:.

(PS. If I can get this working , expect something extremely crazy in the near future).

what im pretty sure of is you have to move the analog board to where you want it then re-wire it so it will work because this has been done before you can problalby find out more from other people because i dont know controller mods that well but i do somewhat know the console mods

Just tonight I did a similar mod, and let me tell you I'm sorry I did it. much harder to control, I like the dpad better (more accurate) :x:

Did you have many issues getting it work? I mean , was it simple? Difficult? Time consuming?

As for bad controls , i'm really just doing this for the sake of it , I have many useless controllers and wanted to try something different.

I tried it a while back but no luck... when it worked (10% of the time) it would keep going left or right or up (which ever direction I was trying to go)... you may need to find another mod like buying a clear controller off of ebay and hooking up some Leds (click here for a great site 4 Leds) (http://uniqueleds.com).
