Views: 2026 | Comments: 0 The CEO of Verizon Lowell McAdam recently confirmed that a tablet would be created alongside Google, however a time-line or release date has not been elaborated on. In a recent article from the Wall Street Journal with Lowell McAdam is quoted to have said “We’re looking at all the things Google has in its archives that we could put on a tablet to make it a great experience.” Last year both companies signed a contract or partnership to develop a family of mobile devices. It was not made clear of what operating system would be supported by the devices, be it Android, or the Chrome Operating System. Recently The New York Times reported that Google was working on a slate style Android tablet to compete with Apple’s new iPad. An example of what could be to come is the Archos Android tablet. Google has recently released a statement with the following information: “Android is a free, open source mobile platform. This means that anyone can take the Android platform and add code or download it to create a mobile device without restrictions. The Android smartphone platform was designed from the beginning to scale downward to feature phones and upward to MID and netbook style devices. We look forward to seeing what contributions are made and how an open platform spurs innovation, but we have nothing to announce at this time.” -TwisT May 11, 2010, 05:26:41 PM by aquatsr

Views: 1508 | Comments: 1 We all know that robots will eventually take over the world. That day, some of us shall remain there loyal followers. I am one of them. The Android operating system from Google took Apple’s iPhone operating systems place in the U.S. this quarter. A recent study done by the NPD has shown that Android accounts for 28% of all units sold in the US in the first quarter of 2010, which gives Google’s OS the second slot on the most used OS. The Apple iPhone has fallen to third place while holding 21% of the market. However the BlackBerry OS which uses RIM’s homegrown system still holds the first slot at 36%. None of the data provided from the Research Group does not reflect purchases through enterprise contracts, although Android phones are becoming more and more popular with companies as well. The success of the Android’s OS is debatable however the most logical reasoning for the popularity is because it operates on multiple models of phones and almost every US wireless service providers as opposed to the Apple iPhone. -TwisT May 10, 2010, 12:25:02 PM by TwisTtheTwiTcH
Views: 2602 | Comments: 4 Next month at the E3 expo in Los Angeles Nintendo’s new Gameboy the 3D DS is slated to be unveiled; since its announcement in March. Now it is Nintendo, and they always think about their customers. The new 3D Gameboy will have a function to disable the third dimension so that it will once again be 2D, what we are used to now. The thought behind this is for the sake of children’s eye sight and strain on their eyes. CEO Satoru Iwata did not elaborate on how the option on the 3DS will work, in the recent press conference. It was however mentioned that the new hand-held will include new anti-piracy measures to prevent game theft. Now as we all know, there isn’t a chance in the world that they would give any hints about this new feature. Now if only they would be kind enough to give us a Gameboy advanced slot. -TwisT May 09, 2010, 07:15:32 AM by dedafmonteur

Web developer Steffest managed to do this by strapping a couple of Android devices and an iPod touch on top of a portable speaker. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilEdroh3uzM&feature=player_embedded#!
