A few questions

Can anyone tell me the average temperature of a wii, in standby and during gameplay?
Do all/most Look at the Board Rules use the same solder points?
Are the wii's slotload leds smd?
Does removing the metal shielding cause any problems?

For the temperature it really depends how long the system is on, in standby though I'm not sure but there was a case of someones wii overheating and breaking from standby.
Yes the slotload LED's are SMD.
I imagine it would cause some trouble, i don't think Nintendo would put it there for no reason, but cutting into the shielding won't cause problems.


Just so you know no talking about chips here we want to keep everything legal.

Ooh, alright, I was just planning on adding a serial port and was trying to figure out which points would be the best to use

Serial port? for? I hope you are not thinking in adding a serial keyboard or something like that.

No, just using the port so when I want to upgrade to a newer Read The Rules! I can just solder it to a male serial plug and plug it in
