Buying A Laptop
« on: January 14, 2008, 12:37:33 PM »
Ok its my 18th birthday in a month or two and i am getting a laptop for going to university and such, what i want you guys to do is recommend me a good one that can be used for general working, a few games maybe but not a specifically built gaming laptop.... i have a price range of 400-600 pounds which is maybe 800 to 1200 dollars? What i really want is a good looking machine that gives me alot of bang for my buck if you get me lol

Thansks

I think this could work in your price range and versatile

getting old is mandatory growing up is optional.

It looks really good but if you really want portability id go for smaller just in case you gotta care that around campus with you. Also HP locks the motherboard for no overclocking =(

This is a really good portable laptop thats affordable, good specs, and you can add more ram later if you want. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-TravelMate-3043WTMi-Bluetooth-Widescreen/dp/B000O8ERGG/ref=sr_1_63?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1200557177&sr=1-63

I mean because they are delicately built, to work with minimal noise, so OCing it can screw it up.

Actually, very few people have a MBP, and it fits both your criteria, its just probably out of your price range.
