Swimming PSP's <Need Help>
« on: February 08, 2008, 03:14:59 AM »
Yesterday...
my fren come and giv me his PSP...
the PSP went swimming once 2 years ago...
so i try to get the PSP working again...
after open the psp can clean it up....
i manage to get the PSP half working...
wif no backlight... but luckily the LCD still ok...
so i plan to make own backlight wif cellphone keypad LED...
but now my problem is...
the PSP wont detect my slim psp battery..
when me turn on... nothing happened....
when me plug the adepter on... the PSP boot up like always..
but the power LED keep blinking..
orange and green...
Does anyone got same situation as me??
or got anyone got same experience wif me<swimming PSP's)
or we can use the slim PSP`s for phat ones?
thats giv me hard time..since me cannot flash The CFW...
its firmware is oficial 2.00

 :help:

first worry about the psp not the custom firmware ;)

u tried bridging the backlight fuse? so the backlight will turn on

and i dont know if slim battarys work on a phat psp

To all of you crying about lag and kicks, remember… when Jesus died, took him 3 days to respawn. Now THAT is lag.

tried bridging many times.... no effect..
until me pawned the fuse itself ><
me need to hold wif hand in order to make the backlight work...
now even the existence of the backlight is still unknown... <me lost it... lol>
so me plan to make own backight wif keypad LED's
any sugestion?
should i use 22v? or 5v?
or how much LED? 6 maybe? :boxed:
and what value of mA of the standard PSP backlight LCD?
me maybe end up to connect the LED parallely.. about 20 ohm resistor of each LED.. wif 5V...

Dude chill out!
Don't do anything else, do only what I'll tell you.
Leave the backlight fuse bridged,
don't add any leds for backlight!
That is stupid, the psp screen is damn wide and you can't light the
whole screen and if you do then you'll need an enormous amount of led,
power and it's gonna be dim.
The only problem that psp has is backlight,so don't touch other stuff!!
The slim battery isn't compatible with fat as I know.
Now the only thing you have to do is completelly disassemble the psp
and take only the motherboard, then take cooking soda(powder form),
mix it with water and with a soft toothbrush rub softly the components of
the motherboard and rub the backlight connector too from the inside(don't rub
the screen connector as it is ok as you said). Then dry your motherboard with a napkin
or with an air blower(not hot air from a hair dryer) and once it's dry reassemble it.
Then backlight will work. Water is salty(hard water) and that's bad for electronics,
you're lucky it works and when it dries salt remains on your components.
Probably the backlight connector is salty and doesn't connect well.
If you clean it the way I told you it'll work.

yea, i might not know much of modding but i know alot about firmware and abttery related things, and no the slim battery will not work with phat, the slim battery has 1200mAH and original phat battery has 1800mAH they both have same voltage(3.6V) so the slim battery might not provide enough power to the phat PSP
