BSOD Help!!
« on: February 13, 2008, 01:40:20 PM »
Hey everyone I just built my new PC and am mainly happy with it except the  fact that sometimes it will give me random BSOD.

The problems are as follows...

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

and

STOP: 0x0000000024(more numbers pop up)

I'm thinking its either a hard drive or RAM issue, if anyone needs my specs I'll post em but I can't seem to get rid of the BSOD.

used to have that with mine when i loaded battlefield 2 and hit a menu button

its an interrupt request line error (IRQL) meaning somthing in the interrupt request line is messing up and it shouldnt

an example, my teacher (during the days of win98 or so) upgraded graphics card...but compatability sucked and every time
he tried to play movie and sound at the same time it would crash like that

see what could possibly be crossing in function...

Umm I think it actually had to do with my processor. Its an Allendale e2160 and I overclocked it to 3.0GHz and I think that was causing the problems. It probably had to do something with the voltage not being sufficient. So now I have it running stable at 2.5 GHz at 31C. It's a pretty good processor for now until I can save up for my q6600.

But until further notice, problem solved!!  :victory:

well that explains it, there was an interrupt request that got f'd cause your processor wasn't getting nuff power for the clockspeed

maeks sense

my leg is numb...

Lol, my head hurts. But I'm probably going to need to give it at least 1.5 V for it to run stable at 3.0, I'll probably try to figure it all out once my homework gets done.
