PSP UMD Door fix/help

Hello everyone, i need some help with my friends psp. One of the points that hold/make the door turn is chipped/broken off and the door wont close all the way with the umd cage sometimes coming out. Is there a method to fix and make the door work properly w/o buying another door? Any ideas, methods etc would be appreciated. Btw this was typed on my psp and i apologize for any mistakes. Ty
