Charge light, yet no power EDIT/UPDATE
« on: February 12, 2008, 10:10:57 AM »
Another psp issue, on this psp, i cant get the thing to turn on. When a batter is in, and the ac adapter is plugged in, the charge light comes on, yet still no power. have tried bridging power fuse, as well as different pboards and cables. any ideas?

And... actually.. I have 2 psps that are doing this same thing.... one is a TA-082 and one is a 079.....

Update:

I do know that there is some power going through the powerboard into the motherboards, i got readings with my multimeter.... I really want these fixed!

make sure ur LCD brace isnt touching ur solder fuse, take off the brace and turn it on with our without the LCD ur choice, to fix it u might need to get rid of some solder so it doesnt make contact with the brace.

bad battery....

clean the posts on the motherboard where the battery connects (battery terminal)

have you used some bad homebrew?
someone posted a homebrew that fuxxores your battery and makes it a brick (i think it flashes the chip???)

anyhow clean the posts, USE A SONY CHARGER, try again!

if this doesnt work, check for corrosion and or buildup near the USB port on the psp (i removed the usb on a psp before cause of rust/dust and that fixed a similar problem...

sleepy time, girlfriend home in few hours... msg me or whatnot if more help is wanted

bro its a brick it s all sofware issues. if none of the above worked then it has to be a brick.

easy to fix i have bricked my psp like twelve times. just make or get a pandora battery and magic  memory stick. not hard to do you do not need a working psp to make them.

once you get both ready put them both in and pull up the power button the leds by the memory card should both blink then a window should show up push x then wait.
should solve the problem.

but you said it doesnt power on so no leds blink or any thing nothing happens hu then it may not be sofftware. I know you have done this a few times but go over all the solder points on the psp a make sure no way thier can be a short.

good luck hope it was only a software thing.
if you need help with the software part pm me or get me on im.

errm.... no.

I have had a pandora since the day it came out.... I know how to use one. The things dont even boot with pandora in..... I get no green lights whatsoever. Nothing. Im positive there are no shorts, because neither of these have ever been modded.

another thing that i have done in the past...

remove the network/memstick cards...

clean the connector that connects them VERY WELL... and VERY CAREFULLY

when i took apart my original psp (release date one) to give it a nice cleaning (wasnt too dirty) i had some dust in the connector that either shorted it or didnt allw it to have the correct contact with the motherboard....

it was causing a similar problem.

check it....

I had the same problem last night and all I did was let it charge overnight and now it works fine (except my wifi but that has nothing to do with the charging/power problem )

same happened to me on my slim.  all i did was take it completely apart and clean or wipe all the connectors, and it has worked flawlessly since then. :drunk:        try it.

BUMP

sorry to bring my thread back up guys, but i still got nothing on these boards... I was thinking that maybe they got something spilled on them? Was thinking about soaking them then drying them with a hair dryer....

also contemplating sticking them in a prheated oven for a minute to melt all the solder contacts and then let it cool... kinda like the xbox towel trick.....  before i do that, im askin out there one more time. any other ideas?

thats what i suggest as well liek check each area on ur psp that is some sort of a connector and clean  it EASLY...

Putting it in the oven might help the solder joints but just know that the Xbox towel trick screws up the Xbox in the long run.
