Mod idea

Well... it's probably been asked, but nobody would find it enjoyable.
But, eh, I want to know what people would think.

Since the slim came out, the fat psp has been limited to the amount of ram it has. What if there was a mod to add more, such as laptop ram? I mean, people have been tearing out the UMD drive for other things. Though putting some more ram would be impossible, imagine the speeds!

That, or replace the processor with and Intel atom xD

i admit it would be nice and a good idea but the problem is that the psp's OS would need to be rewritten so that it could "talk" to the new processor and ram

well robin is that possible? you think maybe DA and Cyber could get together and DA would make the new fimrware and cyber installs the chip??? i mean to me it sounds like a good idea, put some consideration into it

the prob is getting a hold of DAX. i need to talk to him about something but he is hard to get a hold of. but i think it cant be that hard just a few hundred resources need to be changed and about a month or more to do it.

yea but the other problem would be disableing the current RAM without screwing the MOBO but may be posible if somone writes a new cfw for psp. Or could start buy making a boot Shell for a exsisting cfw.

Hmmm..... dude I think that be nice to tell ya the truth the fat models are my favorite ones I got about 10 fat models alone that are mine I have bought some bricked and some new gracias pandora battery lol.

Anyways more ram would be a great way to go or ya know what be nice to fit with all the extra ram why not just compile a Linux OS small enough and similar to the psp OS and delete the PSP OS completely and Brew up your Own Linux OS unto the PSP and mount it then that would open alot of doors to the linux world for one then everyone could create there own unique OS for there PSP then so might turn them into major hacking devices but will be unique as every human is LMFAO.... 

Anyways I call dibbs on creating a compatible OS for the PSP anyone wanna help???

the only differnece with the slim is the tvout and the added flash so instead of a 32mb flash the slim has a 64mb flash and in theory that is possibly as long as you get the same line and model but the 64mb version of the chip


p.s. a little less of this dibbs stuff guys as im seeing it more and more people can do whatever mod they want

you have no idea how many pinns the memory chip has and how close they are together, it would require some really really outstanding soldering skills, then you would have to deal with the software and i doubt the mobo would use all the new memory availible since its made for 32mb, in my opinion this mod is IMPOSSIBLE

not nersarilly i can be done but it cant be done this mod would be super hard and probly ruin the whole portable bit of the psp coz i saw the ds with the increased ram it was like the size of my car well not really more like my laptop
