Won't boot

Yea, for some reason I've been having trouble with this thing.
Soon as I get a job, I'll be buying a new one.

Anyways, for now I want to get it to work.

So this is what happens, and multiple things do:
First option:
I power on
Logo comes up (Even when disabled via menu)
Sony background comes up, not mine
It stays like that until I pull the battery/plug, I can't turn it off via switch.
•Power-saving options still work. Backlight will dim after 5 minutes or so.
•Pressing any button gets it out of dimmed backlight
•Other then that, no buttons respond.

Second option:
I power on
Logo comes up (Even when disabled via menu)
UMD drive spins and clicks
My background comes up
Popup: Cannot read disk
Everything works.
•Happens once in a blue moon

Third option:
I power on
Logo does NOT come up
Background comes up
Everything works except for games, which freeze at the sony logo.
•Once in a blue moon, games will work
•Does not read disks
•Happens most often, but still pisses me off.

I've tried replacing the UMD drive, but that doesn't do diddly. Since I've done that, options two and three are becoming more and more rare.

Any ideas on what's causing this? I can't update it, every time I do it goes up to 99%, then slowly back down to 95%, then slowly back up to 99%.
I'm currently on 3.71MM-3, tried updating to 3.80, and 3.90.

try updating via pandora. thats also really weird with what happens, to me sounds like it just software tho.

have you tried changing your cintro and turning off all plugins?i have had a few intros that would make it so psx and homebrew didnt load if plugins were on,just an idea though

How do I update via pandora?
Also, what's a cintro? I don't have any plugins at the moment, but I'm tempted to try and put irshell on, maybe then it'll boot correctly.

a cintro is a custom intro,and to update with pandora depends on what firmware you have and what one you want,and what unbricker you are using,but basicly you insert your mms and then slap in the pandora batt,it should turn on by itself and then depending on what mms you are using you will either get a blank screen  or a screen that says press x for cfw or o for oficial fw.(you should get the cfw why else did you get a pandora?)and after you respond it will start flashing your new firmware.if it is a firmware issue this should solve it.and you should be able to upgrade to what ever you want after it is done
if you are using pandoras mms and batt you might have to hold L shoulder button down well booting to get to the pandoras options screen(dont remember for sure though its been a while since i have bricked mine)if you like 3.71 m33-? then
Despertar_cementerio2 should work good for you if you dont have a mms already and you can get it at dark alex site(just google it forgot the link)hope it helps.
ir shell is kinda cool but it takes up a bit of space if you do install it sometimes the auto boot causes problems ,if it does,just turn it off auto boot plugin and load it from the game file.

Run KeyCleaner, sounds to me like your IDStorage is corrupt.
