Hey all I gotta tell you about this Clear Case from CoolMods.co.uk I received mine in the mail the other day and spent the night swapping my internals into it. I have seen a number of clear case parts since I started messing with PSP’s but this one take’s the cake. This was by far the nicest cleanest reproduction of the factory case right down to the screw holes that were not tapped, which made for a perfect fit when screwing things in. The Back plate itself was cut perfectly as all parts fit in place just as they would in the factory case. And clarity! This case is so clear that you can read the smallest of fine print without any blurring of the letters.
The case comes with the Front plate, the Back plate, the UMD Door, Battery cover and Silver Trim that goes around the case. One thing to note is that silver trim is lighter then the factory trim. I opted to skip replacing the memory cover trim and that’s how I noticed the change in color of it. Also for those of you with silver original PSPs get the bonus of a nice color match between the silver trim to the factory gray numb not sure about other color slims as I only have four gray ones.
The case was shipped to me in a very well protected package and the UMD Door and Silver Trim were connected to the case already along with the WiFi switch and Power Switch. The Front plate had clear plastic covers on the screen to protect it during shipping and install so there would be no scratches.
Also, the case comes with the Power, Hold, Mem Stick and WIFI silk screening on it but due to copyright stuff no PSP or SONY logos. Never the less this case will have all your PSP friends drooling and it holds lost of possibilities for some cool visual hacks.
I would recommend that when you receive the case to leave it in the package until your ready to install it and when you do install it make sure your are wearing gloves. I say that because it’s a pain in the butt to get finger prints out of the inside of clear cases and this one would be no different. I can tell you it is very, very easy and when your done you will be impressed.

Since I have taken these pictures last week I have been very busy working on my next mod so that I could should you all something new and different and just in time for a clear case! WIN WIN for us.

is that for that slim psp ^.^ ?

and what is that wire doing in the umd door !! :P on pic 3 5 and 8 you will be able to see it on the top right corner :P of the umd door

Looks good, Pictures are high quality and you can see a lot of detail.

Yes I agree...That looks great!! I was going to buy the clear case from DealExtreme, but I think I would rather pay more for better quality (thanks ken) He changed my mind for me

Nice review! I was planning on doing one myself but I probably wouldn't be able to do as good of a job.

I reccomend that you use your original silver trim for three reasons:

- The color of the silver is different (already stated by Nic0)
- The font on the memory stick door is different from the original
- The switches fit more tightly than the original

As for the battery I wanted to rip the cover off to see the circut it adds to the clear case!!!!

i actually have met a dude that can do that for me. well actually not met him. there is a dude on ebay who manufactures them i guess there not legit but they work. i asked him if he can make clear ones and he said yes he could but he has to produce a bunch at a time (1000). i didnt have the money to do it so i didn't. i begged for just one and said that i could get people to buy it (acidmods). ill see if i can get a hold of him again maybe work something out with coomods.

Does this mean when you switch the back plating, that you would have to transfer the whole shebang from the one to the other? (silver to clear)

yes

you will have to disassemble the psp out of the other case

then rebuild it in the clear case

Really!? that would be sweet, i've been after a blue trim for my slim. don't want to paint as i'm not sure i can do it. whats the guys name dude?

everything is screwed down to the backplate. I'm releasing the Clear Case Tutorial ASAP.
