FM transmitter inside PSP
« on: May 31, 2008, 09:28:23 PM »
I have tried two different FM transmitters and they both suck

Both of them work pretty go by themselves but the minute I put them inside the PSP they really suck.

I tried the SIIG transmitter and found after installing it it would not go 5 feet until I found out they use the input
cable as the antenna for the transmitter. Can't coil up 36" of input wire inside my PSP

I tried the Belkin Tunecast 2 and that transmits 10 to 15 feet but being inside the PSP picks of all the clock noise of the PSP and has a whine in the sound that drives ya nuts.

I even copper shielded the board to no help.

Grrrrrr.

Was just given other people my experience in case someone else was thinking of doing it.

idk, maybe you could take the one with the antenna and make it like a psp addon so you could put usb cable in the back and hook it up to that. or w/e you want to do
or you could take the radio thingy out of one of thiose fake ipods and attach it somehow

Yeah, FM is very bad for internal mods that is why the internal bluetooth is a better choice

Or just the transmitter w/ no board

You will still need an antenna though.

Already have one of those chips.

If you download the info you will see that it requires a 31 inch long antenna and when you loop it around the psp it picks up all sorts of clock noise from the psp.
