My laptop reads my 360 games...last time I checked.
I think any dvd player can read them, if I'm not mistaken. I don't have anything special on my laptop.

Any can view files I think, or at least see it's a 360 disk.

You're half retarded if you think you can read it and play it, treemty =P

Just put the disk in, install IMGburn and make an iso of it. You won't be able to PLAY the backup once you burn it though, unless you flash your drive..

No you don't get it!
You CAN NOT play 360 games on a computer, it's not possible with ANY DRIVE.

Like I said, put the disk in the computer drive and make an iso of it. THERE is your backup. If you want to play it on your 360, then you need to flash the 360 drive.

Only way, alright?

I thought you said play them.

Just buy any old dvd drive and back them up... my laptop reads my disks fine. You can't use the 360 drive to back games up anyway. That person needs the 360 drive flashed to play them, otherwise backing them up is useless because they won't be able to be played.

It's uh...a company that dell works with? ImgBurn says it's Optiarc... I don't know. It's an internal slot load dvd drive.

If they're dual layered then buy a DL drive. Just wait till someone else posts and confirms.

edit*
IMGBurn says my 360 disk has 2 layers. So yeah, they're dual layer.

The drive you need is a Samsung dvd drive flashed with kreon firmware to read the 360 discs. They cost about $50.

Uhm, NO. He's talking about reading them on a computer to back them up.

My oem un flashed regular run of the mill normal dvd drive reads them. You don't need some fancy :censored: to do it.

That's probably because you might need to decrypt the disk first or something...

Not sure.

Yes you do need the Samsung with Kreon firmware to back up 360 games. Go do some research before you say that I am wrong.

THIS ISN'T ILLEGAL.
What are you talking about?

You're making a legit backup of a game you own. That's 110% legal..

I don't think any drive can be used to make the backup of the game, as psp339 said it has to be the samsung Kreon drive or another specific type to be able to read, backup and write 360 games. Also, any 360 drive can be flashed now, including the lite-on.

I dont know about reading the files but to actualy burn the discs you will need to do one of a few things. The best thing to do is buy that KREON drive, and get the custom firmware for it, it can read and rip the discs, plus its one of the only drives that can burn 360 backups. But I get the 5mb read thing as well, I havent looked into it, but the Samsung Kreon drive will do everything. Plus its only like 50 bucks, you could burn discs other ways, but they all suck.
