Help moding my PSP
« on: August 12, 2008, 01:12:31 PM »
ok this is what i want to do...

   1. Ring of light
   2. i want to mod some speakers in the umd door of my psp, im taking out the umd drive for that.
   3. i want to put some LED's everywhere and put them into the sound card so they flash to the music.
   4. i would also like to put a dual memory slots, one in each side of the psp.
   5. i want to also put in a microphone

im getting this http://www.vakits.com/product_info.php?cPath=43&products_id=321 for the amplifier and LEDs. im going to need major help on this. so anybody who can write me tutorials on how to do this stuff, that would be great. i know the basics for this stuff, like i know how to completely take apart my psp and stuff. cause i changed my psp shell to blure chrome. so any help would be much appreciated. thanks.
ps. this is gonna be a lot of work lol

a bigger size does not always mean louder,if you take a 100 watt 8 inch speaker and a 100 watt 15 inch speaker of the same kind, the db out put will be very close to the same, the main difference is the 15 inch speaker and the 8 inch speaker is the surface area, the bigger the surface area the more air it can move allowing it to hit lower notes but not realy increasing volume(this is what i was told by a memphis audio dealer and he might have been working on commision so he could have been pulling my chain to make a sale)
but if you got it in a kit the amp that they give you the directions to build then they probably matched the speaker to the final out put of the amp.you should try them before you just discard them and go to a diff speaker they might sound awsome.

You can maximize your psp by using smaller speakers with a bigger punch. Everyone now a days have lost the respect for smaller packages. I want a 25 inch sub woofer, and a 20000 watt amplifier, with a 200 foot power supply.

Sorry a little overboard but honestly whats the point? Quick question do you need alot of bass comming from the psp? Why dont you go with some small tweeters? You can buy some from autozone for about 10 bucks for two of them take them apart and that will make enough sound, if your at one corner of the street the person on the other side will be able to here it loud and clear. Just an idea

sounds like a short,,make sure you have elecrtical tape hideing all the joints that you soldered, put a piece of tape over the top of the speaker so it wont short on the lcd cage check and double check then check again,it does take much to short something out
