My soldering gun died :(

who cares what brand it is, geez. a soldering gun is a soldering gun, and this 'knock-off' has seen DD through all of his modding, so it can't be that bad.

lol in 9/10 cases it aint the soldering iron,its the operator!I'm still using a 1.5 year old 40 euro maplins own brand soldering station that I've used for most of my modding and it hasn't failed me yet,soldering irons die,it's a fact of life,no matter what brand it is it will die eventually and even if it doesn't die it will be replaced anyways.

i hate maplins brand items, they always die on me so quickly. My soldering iron from here lasted 1 week, whereas a cheap £5 my dad has thats 2 years old is still working fine.

yea I agree, wellers are epic pwnage lol :D. Never heard of Skutronic.

edit: soldering irons don't die, the weller I have is like 10 years old.
