you should totallly do that but it dont look like you can hit the long notes. I wonder how the strum thing works?

the metal pick hitting the metal string. as long as their touching it will hold the note... at least thats what it seems

yeah all i really need is some wire and either a soldering iron or electrical tape
and how do you internalize wires that are suposed to be outside of a  guitar?

When using the x360 controller, pressing the single button acts as pressing the strum bar AND the corresponding fret button.
Generally, the whammy is either analog stick (you could wire that to a guitar too I suppose).

And yes, to hit the long notes you would hold the pick on the string, and it would continue the note. Just as if using the controller.
