LED's work fine until I attach LCD Screen's cage?
« on: January 03, 2009, 01:19:39 AM »
I just finished installing 6 LEDs (4 around the ring in the back, 2 on triggers). I've been reassembling my PSP slowly, part by part. I've gotten to the point where the D-Pad panel's attached to the mobo, and the power assembly is as well. I can plug in the battery, hit the power switch, and all the LED's light up.

However, after I attach the cage for the LCD screen, this happens:
I put in the battery, and the lights (including the power light) automatically light up. When i hit the power switch, all the lights get brighter, and i hear the startup sound. If i hold it to force cut off, the lights just dim back, but stay cut on.

Help please? :/

Something is probably shorting them out. Make sure none of your connection are exposed.

There's absolutely nothing exposed, at all. I just doublechecked. Lol.

I have no idea what's making it do that.

EDIT:

Nevermind, i got it.

The - wire soldered to the LED point was touching a positive area, I had it stripped back too far.
