PSP Sound Mod?
« on: January 22, 2009, 11:13:17 PM »
Hi guys

just recently got my psp modded by a modder here at acid mods.

anyway...

i quite use my psp for music and thinking of having a speaker at the back would be a great asset.
i have one of those psp docks that i dont use, and the speakers are perfect to fit, as you can see :

The thing is, im all new to modding and to have someone tell me if theese speakers are compaitble  to mod with, then i'd like to know how!

anyway, heres a couple more pics, and thanks alot!

Hey,

Thats not really a perfect fit since its STICKING OUT the back and pointing the speaker into he PSP isn't going to help much. You need it pointing out .Your going to need smaller ones, something like 27mm Mini Speakers

Specs:
A great budget-priced small speaker with voice coil impedance of 8 ohms, free air resonance of 500Hz and maximum power output of 0.25W. Dimensions: 27mm x 8mm.
# Dimensions: 27mm x 8mm
# Voice coil impedance: 8 Ohms
# Free air resonance: 500Hz
# Maximum power input: 0.25W
Great for projects where space is precious. With 8 ohms impedance and maximum power output of 0.25W. 8mm deep.

and this is how I did mine:

Hope this helps

Sorry man, by the looks of it, its about as wide as the PSP. So I highly doubt you could fit it in without it sticking out. But all hope is not lost. If you do a little bit of research I'm sure you could find some QUALITY mini speakers. Here's a list I found. Maybe you'll see something you like...

Just to let you know if you want to add speakers your going to have to remove the UMD drive....and that means taking it ALL apart into pieces....

Yea man, Tbh I don't think you should. Your PSP is already very sic. You don't want to risk ruining that do you?

I don't recommend using that psp....

And that speaker is HUGE. Get a small one if you want it to look right.
