Step By Step Tutorial1- Here are the tools you will need. (Be careful, these tools can be dangerous.)
2- Now cutting it was soooooo easy - as long as you have a dremel tool. You can buy them everywhere and they are very useful the have. You can get hundreds of attachments for them. The cheapest I found was $14.99 Wal-Mart and it comes with 200 pieces.
First you want to take off the silver ring. Next you want to use the cutoff wheel to cut a square in the center (not a big square just enough to have working room).
3- Once the square is cut you can begin grinding away at your circle.
4- First with the sanding wheel attachment sand a rough circle just to give it the basic shape.
5- Next, with the same sanding wheel attachment, you want to slowly and carefully sand in a circular pattern until you have a rough cut around the inside diameter, leaving 1/16" material from the outside circle.
6- You will notice there are some points higher than others. These spots you want to work down first with sand paper.
7- Wrap some 100C grit sand paper around your finger and start sanding in a circular motion (high points first). Until you remove that last 1/16" material from the inner diameter of the UMD door. (Now if you are not a careful person you might want to put masking tape over the outside of the UMD door so as not to scratch the surface.). Every couple of times around you want to test your jewel to see if it fits. You want it to snap into place with a little pressure you don't want a loose fit. You can get jewels here at Acid Mods.
8- Now you should have a perfect UMD door ready for the installation of the jewel with LEDs.
