« on: February 16, 2009, 03:00:57 PM »
hey guys,

ive been wondering how much voltage a usb port supplies? I know when i strip a usb cable there are four wires. black and white are the positive and negative.. and the other two are for data (data+ data-).

Depends on the forward voltage of the led.

Well, 2 usb ports in series would give you 10v.

5v + 5v = 10v...

To all of you crying about lag and kicks, remember… when Jesus died, took him 3 days to respawn. Now THAT is lag.

If you try to draw to much current all that will happen is the USB port will shut down. Then you will need to uninstall the USB drivers and reinstall them to turn the port back on

Yes, also if you just want it to be a usb activated powered thing, u could just make the usb activate a 5v relay (Make sure u use a diode for the back EMF) then attach another powersupply to the relay, and voila

Hoi! Pinoy ako!
