PSP ANOLOUGE STICK

Hi im new to game modding so please forgive my stupid question,
I own a psp phat and I will be installing custom firmware and removing the umd drive.
BUT
i wnt be using it to play any psp can i remove the anolouge stick or will i need it for for the emulator im running
psx
gba
snes
neogeo

the reason i wanna remove is i find it very uncomfy to use and on my old 1 it stop wrking the charcter on the game i was playing would move on its own if i use the stick it did nothing no control

if it is stil working i would leave it cause some games in the emulators use it and you will still be able to play psp games in iso and cso format from the memory stick if you are flashing it to custom firmware (make sure they are games that you own) i personally use the analog more than the d-pad when playing games lol but everyone has their own prefrences good luck with your mods
