please clarify?

you want to perninatly attach the wired mic to the controller? not sure its a great idea, if you set the controller down with headset on and turn your head fast you may rip it out???

For a wired mic, you could cut down the cable as short as you can, strip the mic of all the plastic and stuff, solder the connector internally, and then run the wires internally to the mic which you will place somewhere where you could put the mic. (Maybe remove a rumble motor?)

Shouldn't be too hard, right? What is the problem you're running into that's different than a wireless mic?

well ima guess the wireless mics internals are much more compact.

Well on a wired mic, the mic piece is a hell of a lot farther away from the earpiece than a wireless mic right? (I don't own a 360 but I've seen the mics I think)

I would assume that internally it's just connected by wire(s). So just cut down the wires and resolder them.

so it would be as easy as tracing the wires to your microphone and internalizing it by soldering right to the microphone connection on the plug inside the controller.  I am assuming you would still use the ear piece?  If you are not, you will need some sort of dummy plug that will activate the microphone.

To take this mod to the next level I would suggest putting in some sort of adjustable gain in your microphone circuit to set the right sensitivity level as your mike will be 10X as far away from your mouth as it is in a headset.  A LM386 would be a good candidate with a potentiometer for setting the sensitivity.

agreed the hole looks kindof nasty, but the idea was great, and you made it work well done, I tyipically spin the drill bit with my fingers.  also it looks like you have a rapid fire mod on that controller also, but it also appears you have it wired to a constant hot, which means battery life is being consumed even when the controller is off.

my hat is off to you , you imagined what you wanted to do and brought it to a reality, good job.

8/10

You should take the nice fuzzy padding they use on head phones and hot glue it on the inside to at least keep dust out of the black hole. Maybe throw an LED in there as well just because you can.

Or you could get a new case for your controller and when you get a new drill put tiny little holes in a straight line. Like Four on the top row, three under that, two under that and one at the bottom. with an LED in there as well. It shouldn't hurt the mic and it would look a whole lot better.

thx all acidmod members yes lol i kno the hole is disgusting but remember no drill i had to improvise hot knife and screwdriver but that led mod sounds like a nice add-on might just go ahead and do that but the rapid fire mod yes its constantly on but i do it for a reason i have it putting power into my led in my dome makes me use less wire i dnt kno just the way i wanted to do it i have a charger pack anyway so im fine.
