controler soder point ?
« on: August 10, 2009, 04:56:20 PM »
i am doing leds but if i soder it to the 2.something volt on the conroler (the 4 pins for baterie) the leds will always be on if the batrie pack is in. i want the leds to only be on when the controler is working. is there another 3 volt sorce that is on on when the controler is on?

red is power disregard the other wires
use the battery ground for negative, or you could use the constant power you were speaking of and put a switch on it??

lemme guess..... blue leds???

You have to pay attention to forward voltage of you LEDs.... blue is usually 3.2V and since your supply has only 2V you get no light.  With 2 volts you are limited to red or orange LEDs as they are the only ones with low enough forward voltages to make em light with 2V.

Forward voltage is dependent on the color of the LED, so each color in general will have a different forward voltage (Vf)

There is a 3V source on the matrix, in the same spot that is marked on the CG diagram, however this spot will be battery voltage when the controller is off and then goes to 2.99V when the controller is on.  That means that you could drain your battery when it is off, so unless you use a switch to turn your mod on and off when you arent using it, the 3v spot on the matrix will eat ur batteries

hmm....

maybe LEDs are backwards?

Also why did you use the ground that you did? I would use the negative battery terminal instead.

hi guys yeah i ad the same problem with some matrix pads. on the cg run off the 3 volt shown above everything fine the lights turn on and off with the pad.

but on 2 out of the 3 matrix pads ive done when i wired to that left hand 2v supply the led's will light up for a second when i turn the pad on but turn off again straight away its most strange. i think there may be a load of od matrix pads out there cos a few people i know av ad trouble witht the matrix pad like my mate got me to put a 3mode sleeper in his matrix pad and i wouldnt work hmmmmmm so i wired it to my pad worked fine then rewired it in his but like a cg (only on the chip) and it no works fine.

Sigs made by Ken and blazin from the AM Art team cheers guys.....
