ok thanks man ill look forward to them, one more question, do you need the board that is in the ps1/2 controller to wire to or can i connect the wire directly to the connector and analouge sticks, if i do need it then i think i need a new controller, also because this is not like when its connected to the psp do i need the chip where you connect the second analouge stick to or can you remove that and just wire to the pads where the pins were?

thanks in advance

How much modding experience will i need to be able to make this. I am fairly good at soldering after doing electronics for two years at school yet not all that great at case mods.

fairly good
You've got to me a LOT more than "Fairly good" at only soldering to do this.

you might want to have some fairly good equipment as well. very fine tipped iron, steady hands, all the necessary stuff.
It's been a long time

...Like I said. If you're just "fairly good" at soldering, you'll be short a psp dude. You ARE going to screw up unless you're really good at soldering.

Which mods should i do as more practice?
I was thinking of doing the led mod as i heard that it is the best one for getting better at Soldering. But i want to also try the dual nub mod with the razorx as an alternative to this one, but i cant find a tut for the slim installation, unless its the same.

Find some old printed circuit boards
with surface mount chips on them.

Practice re soldering the chips and see how
are it is to solder one and not get solder on the one
next to it.

If you make a mistake see what it takes to remove
the soldering without damaging the board

Practice makes perfect.

Hmm well ill get some practice in and when i feel i am ready i will give it a crack on an older psp of mine. Although if that other one does come out soon ill prolly wait for that as it does seem alot less work for the same result =) But atm this one still stands as the main one ill try.

The hardest soldering part is soldering onto the ps2 controller ribbon cable, lucky i had 2, becuase i melted the first one. I had an old ipod nano(broken) that i toke apart for the adapter. When i took it apart, it looked like there is no place to solder to it.

Someone (I don't remember who now) told me recently that they were working on doing exactly that, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see it here soon too.

I actually tried it and it didn't work. Don't know why. I followed the diagram to the letter, but no such luck...To my knowledge, nobody actually every did it, just the diagram.

Yeah, I was actually working on it for a bit, but now I have found some better componants to use than reed relays. So i am working again.

When you figure it out, please let me know. I have it all pretty much wired up, just gotta replace whatever you find necessary and put it back in.

Brilliant mate!   Love the way you can turn the psp off via the analog on/off button. i remember there being a rumble mod for the psp, could you make this controller mod, but incorporate the rumble using the one's already in the controller? so say when you get a load noise from getting smacked up in a game, the controller rumbles.

He’s got a point. Seriously, this is old news. I did this a long time ago with a psp2tv adapter. It was used for video output on the fat psp before sony made the psp slim wireless internet. But all you had todo was hook up a few spliiters that came with the kit where the button pads hooked in. You’d plug the button pads into one plug and the psp2tv into the other, and just hook a ps1 or ps2 controller tothe psp2tv dock.
