Another LED topic....

So, I am looking to start modding. One of the first things I want to do is learn cosmetic mods, i.e. LEDS. So I have been skimming through the tuts boards a lot lately. My question is: What is the best type of LEDS to use, and where to get them? Also how much do they cost?
Another question is; Can LEDS be run off battery power? I would prefer to run some LEDS on battery power, like a 9v battery or two and install a on/off switch, so I can choose when I want to turn them on or off, rather than have them on when the power is on. Sometimes I may be a little hungover and not want the lights on, lol.

Your gonna need to use 0603 leds smd leds if your doing an led swap on rol or controller. otherwise they can be any type of led, 3mm, 5mm, whatever. They can be purchased from mouser.com, digikey.com, ebay, etc. The leds typically only cost around $0.20 a piece. You can run leds off battery power, but you'll need to use a resistor so you don't blow your leds. Wow, thanks man. I'm going to have to keep that link saved. My plan is to have a fully modded 360 by june, when I deploy to Iraq. So I'm going to take my time on it and see what I can do. I'm probably going to start ripping it apart next week.

Nice. Make sure to keep a work log, i know everyone around here loves seeing things like this come together. You should be able to have it all done by june, unless your like me and constantly add things.haha also, im just curious, but what branch of the military are you in?

Your right, I should be done by June. I am in the Army. Transportation Corps. I am a Cargo Specialist. I load and unload any and everything the Army has that needs to be moved.
