PSP with PSX Controller Tutorial help
« on: January 09, 2010, 11:14:28 AM »
I am about to get ahold of a 2000 model finally since I have lost mine a year ago.  Now I can easily CFW it to output to a Composite TV. But I would like to install either a PSX or Dualshock controller.  I am low on funds and can't really go to spendy here. What I need to know are the type of tools I would need and the specific instructions to do this. I have never soldered before, and I haven't attempted to open a PSP either.

I'm assuming this can be done several ways. Also if this is done, can I switch which set the Right Analog controls? For instance if I wanted it to control the Dissidia Camera on D-pad. Or the Viewing in the new MGS: Peace Walker.

I haven't even acquired a Soldering Iron for this either. If I haven't said enough here, or if I can be pointed towards the right topics I would need, please do so. Although it would be simpler for me and probably some others to have one tutorial for this topic.

I'm really good at catching on quickly, yet I will need direction since Hardware is a new area for me. I guess I'm trying to make a output slot on the PSP for a controller. and optionally an ability to switch what the Right analog controls. I heard something about a microcontroller that might help as well. But I don't know anything about that.

This is a repeat topic. I just placed the other one in the wrong area. At least I hope this is the right area.

- I really thought I was in the Tutorial subforum. Screw it.
