working on: internal sd or microsd card

If you notice the Pro Duo and SD cards have  the same pins (not same pinout mind you)  I am going to wire up internally either a sd card slot or an micro sd to sd converter for cheap internal memory.

yes i realize the external slot will most likely no longer function with both cards inserted.

one question i was hoping someone might have some info on is this:
how does the photofast connect two microsd cards together.  has anyone ever looked inside one

i am wondering how easy it would be to combine these cards.

edit:
found a pdf for combining two sd cards onto one sd card bus but it doesn't seem plausible for the psp.  still interested in how the photofast does it, but may just end up adding a few slots and then just using to dip switches to switch the cards .

i dont think you understood what i was trying to say but that happens to me a lot :P

i already know what pins to do a straight 1 sd to 1 pro duo i looked them up on some pinouts.ru site

what i am wondering is how the photofast converters combine two sd cards into one fully functioning card.

everyone else is using the same ideas i have now about switches and such.

also what is the current memory stick max memory with gen-d3 ?

They are not pin compatible. You can't just wire the pins to their corresponding counterpart, if I remember correctly. You need a converter. I could be wrong, though.

The PhotoFast probably has them in parallel, but I have never used one.

sorry you are correct they are not pin compatible at all though they seem pretty close.  after opening a converter I noticed that there is circuitry involved

after looking at opened photofast pictures there is actually a single chip on the board hopefully someone can get the number off the chip so it can be looked up if they haven't covered it up. it may also be a programming unit and they use their own firmware to split the incoming data in half equally which is why you cant use the cards seperately outside of the adapter

They use a small PIC Chip, if you got a programmer and created some code you could just make your own adapter, you could probably also make it so that you could use both memory cards outside of the adapter separately but I'm sure it would be complicated.
