A/V port help
« on: October 11, 2010, 10:49:53 AM »
I have a box that I got from a friend that has the RROD when the A/V cable is plugged in.  I have tried it with a cord i know works along with the one that came with the box.  I have decided I would like to try and fix it.  To me it seems like the problem is the either the adapter or some other component on the mobo.  I was thinking of going in and hardwiring a RCA connection, soldering the RCA cables in and pulling any connections high or low (respectively) that are needed to make it work.

I wanted to get some real advice and whether this was a feasible course of action.

All advice is welcome.
