List of parts for PSP
« on: May 22, 2010, 09:37:35 AM »
I was gooffing around on eBay this morning, and I was wondering "what if I wanna buy EVERY SINGLE PART of a PSP and hook it up myself?
I thought "Hmm.. cool idea" but I wasn't sure if I have all the parts I need.
So, I was thinking if someone could make a list of all there is inside a PSP (1000, 2000, 3000) so I don't miss a piece. More than anything, things I can buy by separated. (Don't want to get soldering and stuff)
What do you say? :D

Yeah, but I cant get some parts for less if is in auction. Some (for example) Motherboards ends up at $12. And in Buy It Now are at 30 maybe 40. Things like that. Anyways, I thought that it could be a nice proyect.

I believe PSP motherboards are multi-layer so the time to figure out the traces will be an immanence time consuming process. Plus does sony sell chipsets?

horrible idea, but if you buy a used psp, take it apart and sell the M-board and screen you could make a profit

Dude, don't do it. You'll end up paying so much money for the parts to build your own psp, when you could get a second hand psp, rebuild it into a new case and save some moneys.

I agree it's too expensive to build one yourself with bought parts.

But since you asked here is the list of parts for a PSP 2000:

1. PSP housing
2. motherboard
3. UMD Drive
4. Power cable
5. 2 D-Pad Ribbon Cables
6. LCD Screen
7. Home Bar
8. WiFi cable
9. Power Switch
10. PSP Battery

And for the 3000 all you need to add to that is the microphone. But make sure the parts are for the appropriate version of the system.
