Has this happened to anyone with lite-on dvd. need some help
« on: December 18, 2010, 05:53:40 PM »
I bought a 360 guy said it had a open try error, ok no problem RIght? so I bring it home everything works, dvd wont read a single disk, checked the pot for laser was right around 4.10k ohms think thats right. was set on 20k with ohm resistor, so then i get another lite on dvd, just pluged it in after checking the pot on that was right around the same 4.13 so figured i was ok. just wanted to see if it would play a dvd before flashing it or having to replace parts from one to another.

I put it in and same problem laser works, on both dvd drives. both will not play music cd or dvd or anything. I think the spindles motors are both messed up , they spin as soon as you close the drive and then stop.

ANY other ideas what to check or what i should do to get this to work?       Please help!

Thats what i was thinking , but i put the other lite on drive in and did the same thing wouldn't play anything, just like the first drive.

So I had tried a new benq drive i have, hasnt been flashed , brand new out of the box. and it played music cd and dvd just would play games due to its new and not flashed to the xbox with key.

What do I need to flash a lite-on drive, and best deal?

I want to get everything so I can do this , not just for me but incase business picks up i am prepared to do it all.

I would say extract the key off the original drive that came with the xbox and flash it to one of your other drives that plays cds and dvds. If it still does not play games, then you have a pretty sweet paper weight on your hands.

You will need a connectivity kit for lite on drives. Go to the acidmods shop and they have pretty good deals on their kits.
