HELP choosing...
« on: October 16, 2009, 03:27:14 PM »
I need help...
I have enough money to buy an HD PVR Capture Card or a Viking360 controller.
HD PVR Capture Card - This would be used to make videos and put them on YouTube
Viking360 Controller - I don't want the chip...(Even though I know how to install it) I am too lazy to buy a chip so I would buy a pre-modded controller.

Which one?
Thanks!

there are better options out there than the viking chip, dont get me wrong its a good chip but for close to the same price i prefer the intensafire, which has a faster speed on the cod games.

once again im not trying to dis viking as they have a unique product, just voicing my opinion.

game i agree with you on the intensafire i do pefer it over vikings but.. what i do like about viking is the ability to change the modes by just plugging into a computer and downloading diffent hexs depending on the game. The ability to just plug in the controller is a revelutionary update in the modding comunity. For the simplist person who does not know a thing about writing hexs or programing is able to fallow a few simple instructions and have a controller suited to there needs for the game that they choose.

i say spend the extra money and go with viking, there is a lot more coming in the next couple weeks, lots of new code and some undiscovered  things for the cod series. Not to mention great customer support, and the fact that its USB programmable. You wont have to stick with 5 modes of the same thing. Not to mention viking works with ABXY, LB, RB,RSC,LSC, and LT as well not just the triggers

hahah you sure can tell hes a mod/salesman for viking lol. the only problem with the abxy rb lb is that it is a bunch of extra, harder work that is unused its there for future use..and we cant program it. I own both. viking is a good product, but as far as rapid fire goes, comparing the code for cod4, and cod5, the instifire wins. its faster and smoother. as far as updateability, you dont think the debug terminal was put there for nothing do you? lol

im not a salesman im just very involved with viking360 and the people over there. Im just saying that I like it better as there is more possibilities than available with intensafire. Im not saying that intensafire is a bad product at all, it would be better for a beginner to the modding scene as it is a "slap in and be done" mod. Ive been soldering for a long time now, so maybe its just me, but after installing a kit, as long as your organized and can solder well its not that difficult. Especially if using the PnC port and Sleeper. Ive been thinking about by an intensafire and doing a 1:1 review over both of them, as they are both very good mods. Another thing i see about intensafire is that it supports Matrix controllers, while viking does not. But the intensafire will not work with the new CG2.0 motherboard as its power (+3v) spot is gone. And Odingalt had installation diagrams out the same day he received his lot of CG2.0s out. A little bit of code is going to be modified to support CG2.0 without wasting battery life, but i guess we'll just all have to see.  :hifive:

We finally released support for matrix.  Well, 'sort of'.  Our matrix install is just dual trigger rapidfire, sync button used to select modes, and a user-programmable speed mode (same as intensafire).  In other words, the Viking chip installed in a matrix is not nearly as awesome as a Viking chip installed a CG1 or a CG2.

Although our chip does have the quick on/off.  Stupid question, does intensafire have a rapidfire on/off or does the user have to scroll all the way through back to mode 'zero' to turn rapidfire off?

Also can anyone confirm or deny any possible problem with intensafire and new CG2 circuit board?

the instafire has the option for an external button, it is not part of the kit, but there are buton terminals clearly labled on the flex pcb. and there is no issue with the cg2,cg1, or matrix. it works the same for all.

Well now viking360 has better mods, a macro controller, which is a lot better than the intensafire by far.
