Xbox 360 Controller Sync Button Help
« on: March 15, 2012, 10:21:50 PM »
I have this controller from a while back, I was changing the ring of light.
When I was removing the first smd on a cg2 controller, I burned out a
Small resistor or diode whatever it is. There small as a smd, well I burned it down
In a accident. So now when I try to sync it to the Xbox it wont sync. I'm guessing
It has to do something with the sync button, since that's the only thing that
Got messed up.
I was wondering if there's any way to add a resistor wire or something to make it
Work. Hope to get some positive replies.

Try to just remove it. It sounds like it is shorted. It is possible to run without the capacitor, so just float it off and see if the controller works.

The capisitor is removed. When it burned out it just dissapeared.
I guess it burned. The controller turns on etc.. it just wont sync to
A Xbox, neither with the charge & play kit. It needs a capisitor or something
There

You're chasing a ghost. ;) C28 was never there to begin with, it wasn't installed from the factory.

Plug up a PnC cable to the controller and 360 and see if it will force the Sync.
Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.
