LEDs on ps3 thumb sticks ?

Has anyone done this before, have a tutorial or can help out ? what would be the easier way to add leds to the anolog sticks on the ps3 controller ? not buying the kit they sell on ebay tho, its too much, something like on the 360 controller. You can just glue 3mm leds on the pcb board next to the thumb sticks mechanism. I tried on the ps3 ones, but the leds are still too big, it gets on the thumb sticks way. Any ideas ? thanks...

I was afraid of that. there to damn small lol.. how about 0805 ?there brighter as well. cause 1206 are like 2.5 mm
this will still need a resistor if red dont they ?

if they are red, then yea you probably will. but that is decided by whatever smd you get

use any color 0805 leds make sure to add the correct resistor/s if not youll burn them and i would get some clear thumbsticks few bucks on fleabay guy has some good stuff
