Xbox 360 Explosion Mod
« on: January 16, 2013, 11:29:56 AM »
Hi guys, this is proly my last 360 Console mod, and it's just for myself... :P

not trying anything way over my head, just gna focus on cooling and the looks, I put a lot of time in so far.

My plans For the xbox
> Orange "Rusted" paint job, scratch marks etc.
> "danger Explosives" Cut out on the right side
> Some vinyl paint job one the left side, with my "Mod Shop" Logo Name..
> LCD Temp meter on faceplate + 3 way fan controller
> Custom Stainless steel on/off switch replace original
> Ipod Dock on top infront of HDD, with the 2 USb ports moved there too.
> Talismoon whisper fans replace Stock OEM
> 2 ekstra 60mm fans next to the CPU Heatsink
> Got some other ideas floating around, not sure of yet, but the top listed is defenately happening...

16 Januarie 2013 : This is the two side shells, last 3 days work
Explosives sign rough cut out (P.S this is proly the most detailed cut out ife done, so im pretty proad of it)

Cleaned out a bit:

Completely filed and ready for paint job:

Left Shell, can't really explain the idea here.

My first try at cutting out lettering:

Decided to make it a window instead :P

Cleaned:

Paint Job: (P.S this is hand cut vinyl, from sticker paper, so bear with me... lol)

It looks white, its actually orange

Faceplate : So far i'fe mounted the 3 way fan controller

I'll keep u guys updated

Sounds like a cool theme, I like the idea for an Ipod dock.

UPDATE: :winker:

So whats New in this update? :
H.D.D
  > Painted
  > HDD Window
  > Blue Activity LED (couldnt get a picture with it showing up for some reason)
Case
  > Cut Out done + Paint Job (waiting on Perspex)
  > Bottom and Top "Grills" Painted
Hardware Mods
  > So far I Have only installed my Red Whisper Fans

I'm ALSO making a controller to go with the Xbox:
  > Window cut out in the battery compartment (havn't seen one of these before? maybe a first?)
  > Orange and Black Paint Job ( Back and Start and Trigger must still be painted, i always forget em :/...)
  > Internal 1000mAH Battery with mini usb charge port ( credit to Phantomz0 for helping me here [https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,42143.msg316437.html#msg316437] to find what i was looking for

P.S when i was installing the charging board i accidentally dropped some solder on the board and i think a SMD part got "pulled off" with it, now it doesn't turn on, probally just pop a new board in there :)

Pics is self explanatory:

OK so nearly finished :D been a while since an update, and I've accomplished quite a'lot. sorry about the late update, had a rough test series and after that exams :/

Got some hiccups on the way which will be sorted out later:

>broke the top cover thing, so i have to get a new one and paint it.
>of the extra two fans i added one blew out dew to overload, and the other ones fin i broke with my clumsy thumb...
>middle fan pot controller blew because of overloading the one fan :/
>the face-plate doesn't fit 100%, have to see where stuff is in the way.

also i still have to add fans to the back where the lightning bolt is ( i decided against that beware the games vinyl, so i kinda let it shine threw the new coat, you'll see in the pics )

So here's my baby :) almost finished:

Fan Controller:

Faceplate:

Top grid that broke, this is temp fix:

Inside:

Put together:

Finished pics
