Caps or resistor shorted on JDM-030 PS4 controler

Hello every one, I'm french and I have a problem on a JDM-030 ps4 controler.

When I plug it in, nothing lights up. I tested the battery it is ok and changed the usb port and the ribbon (very damaged) but still the same.
I noticed that the cable heats up when the USB is plugged in.
I check several components with multimeter and I find a shorted part just next to the ribbon socket but no reference on it.





I am looking for the reference of this piece with a diagram or your knowledge!

I think the damaged ribbon had create a short circuit in his socket.
I am also looking for the reference of this ribbon socket soldered on the PCB to replace it on another controler.

Just remove the Cap if you suspect it is shorted. There are going to be several more things in parallel with that though, so testing it on the board for a short is not going to mean that Cap is the bad one.

Hi, i took off the cap. i tested continuity on the board and now i have resistance. I could not read anything on the cap, no continuity or resistance because it may be too small for my multimeter or it overheated when I removed it. Is it possible to replace it?

The controller will work without that Cap, it is not a critical component.

The problem is still present without this cap. The ribbon was very damaged can a small piece of metal is stuck in its socket?
I am looking for the reference of this socket.
Power ic is BD92001 or apap041 SOP7 IC?

Is the ribbon cable the one which is needed, also usb-daughter board? This controller needs a jds-030.

Take a closer look into the connector to make sure there's no short inside.

You're right, thank you ! I got the controller with the wrong usb port ... It was not the JDS-030. The controller still does not turn on but the ribbon no longer heats up when I plug it in. It must have burned a piece further ...

When you connect the usb-port to the controller and plug an USB-cable while this is connected to a power source (powerbank / USB-port of PS4) will the controller heat up? Maybe around the little chip in the middle?
