I modded my router!

so a couple days ago I went out and bought a netgear wireless router. Its all white with like an acrylic  trim. I'll post pics tommarow when I get my camera charged. But anyhow, it has little vent holes all the way around on top so I thought it would be cool if blue light was glowing out of em. So I went and put in a blue led. It turns out that the light coming out is a whiteish-blue, it looks kinda freeky  but its cool.... rember pics tommarow!

I have that router and i hate it XD, i dont get enough range from 10m.

pictures or it never happened... lol

post some pics, i wanna see, im wanting to mod mine, maybe a fan due to it always overheating, maybe a window, maybe a few leds

The new RangeMax Netgear Routers have a curved circle in the centre wit blue LEDs. They flash like crazy.

The green lights were allready there, I did the blue....

Here's a pic of the gaming chair I got for christmas, 2 speakers in the headrest, and 1 huge subwoofer in the seat!

HAHAHA I have a netgear WGT634u that I modded I'll post pictures of it tomorrow  :yess: I added blue leds and a fan with a heat sync to cool the cpu... Not to even mention all the software mods and external serial interface

OK here you go. this is my WGT634U. I you have one of these routers check out roofnet. This little router runs a form of busybox luinux and has a USB port. Netgear lists this as a storage router but I have this streaming audio and other stuff..

Software mods aside

Internal storage added
LED's
CPU FAN
Serial Port (RJ11 jack on the side)
External Antenna Mod
Venting Holes

I might install a cpu fan in my router, its always overheating, but i dont know how, anybody know some sort of guide?

funny thing is I dont even use that any more.... I'm a compleete cisco shop at home now. Off topic but if you guys want I'll show you pictures of my 42U rack in the basment...

Thats sweet! did you cut the white plastic out behind the acrylic then so you can see inside right? I think I may do that to get more blue glow out of it!  :tup:

no in my router there is a film that was stuck to the acrylic. I just peeled it off. :yess:
