EL Wire Question

I get how to solder it, and hook it up, but what do you do with the other end? Cos all the tutorials only talk about soldering one end of the EL Wire. Surely if you dont connect both sides it wont light?

why dont you hook it up to a test circuit and try it if it is anything like neon then no you dont but why ask when you could just try and if it does need connecting at both ends you can easily just change it after you have tested if it doesn't work

Where are these tuts?I am trying to do the same thing but need help with EL supplies and installation.All I have is a psp with clear buttons and faceplate.

you dont do any thing to the other end. jsut heat shrink it. or cover it in glue when you glue it in because left exposed it will degrade over time.

nope u only need to hook it up to one side,if u look closely at it there is a little metal wire wrapping round the white stuff inside,there is another wire on the inside which is the ground,and one on the outside which is the positive

cool, its not easy at all, but it will look cool. mine should be quite an improvement and wile im reworking it, i will be writing a tute for it.
