got your heatsink and fan on your cpu, it will shut down to prevent over heating if not

ok now we got it to this point:
when its plugged in and the switch is on, there is a light on the mobo to show there is power

we hit the switch, and all the fans go on for literally a second, then stops

ok power supply is fine, ram is in fine, everything is fine..right?

Try unplugging the 24 pin motherboard connector and plugging it in again.

well this happened to me a while back during exams and i got so stressed trying to fix it i ended up paying £50 service charge to get it fixed.

guess what the problem was??

....

...

......

it was simple as pie i had plugged the power/reset buttons in the wrong way round or something stupid like that so it would like start up the fans etc then turn off straight away.
just check and move around those connectors and you should be sorted

i am not responsible for what i do or my advice

for us that was not the issue, we just bought a :censored:ty case

and we RTFM (read the effing manual) and followed it, but the case confilcted with that,

3 screwholes pulled the mobo down to touch the case, and caused a short (my dad was correct about the short) and it was as simple as unscrewing 3 screws

windows is up and running with drivers installed and everything :D :D
thanks for y'alls help (even though my dad was right XD)
